Greens are agreed that it's better not to be violent. But some of us think it's necessary sometimes. The explanation on the GPUS website says that we should avoid violence except for defense of self or others.
This is a loophole you could navigate an aircraft carrier through.
But our Ten Key Values are not like the Ten Commandments. They are goals, not prohibitions.
If you think violence is necessary in some particular circumstance, probably many Greens will disagree with you. The party is nonviolent, and if some members occasionally find that they are unable to live up to our standards, let's try to forgive them. And if you think that it's an impractical goal, let your fellow Greens hold on to their beliefs. We don't have to argue it out. Let's stay busy saving the world instead.
